Mary Street Bakery - West Leederville, WA

Well I'm Back!
Haven't had a chance to blog for a while with life's obstacles getting in the way. We are in the midst of moving rental houses yet again, jobs being made redundant and being the poor people for a while.
But all in all we managed to take advantage of the public holiday and found a cafe that was open for breakfast.
Mary Street Bakery - West Leederville

We found some seating on the street, being lovely weather it was nice to sit outside.
The menu was quirky but a bit hard to read.
But all in all we were served straight away at the table for our drinks.
I'm not a coffee expert and I wouldn't say I have the best taste buds in the world but the coffee was amazing. Not so hot that you burnt your tongue in the first sip but nice enough it wasn't stone cold!
The first one went down so quickly that we ordered seconds.
If only the cups were larger!

Slab bacon bourbon glaze bacon jam onion ketchup corn fried egg - $25.00
There was so many different flavours in this dish. The pork was salty and covered in the delicious sticky bourbon glaze. The combination of the bacon jam and onion ketchup with the bourbon glaze, my taste buds didn't know which sauce to settle on. All in all it was a nice meal.

Slow Cooked eggs buttered toast with a side of mushrooms - $18.00
The perfectly gooey poached eggs on crunchy sourdough toast was a great match. The side of sauteed mushrooms was excellent and made the perfect size portion.

Boiled free range eggs buttered soldiers tomato relish - $14.00
The tomato relish was made a nice change up of your average boiled eggs and toast.
A simple breakfast but always a favourite.

Fried Chicken pancake peanuts maple chilli fried egg - $24.00
The fried chicken pancake stack topped with a fried egg, maple syrup and chilli. It was like a mountain of awesome savouriness with lava of sweet goodness flowing down the sides. The chilli and coriander left the taste buds tingling and completely overwhelmed.

The scrumptious selection of baked goods and donuts were too good just to look at.
So we ordered donuts and sausage rolls takeaway for later when our tummies weren't so full!

This cafe had a unique american feel with the neon sign and the rustic wood finishes and inviting bakery atmosphere. You can see the chef cooking while sitting at the tables. The service was prompt and mostly friendly.
