Mrs S Cafe - Maylands, WA

Last Sunday I met up with my friend A for a light breakfast at the Mrs S Cafe in Maylands.
The place was very popular but i managed to snag a table inside and settled in to admire the bits and bobs that were displayed across the room. Something new to look no matter where you looked.
The decor was very eclectic and the atmosphere was liking visiting grandmas house for breakfast as a kid. The staff were friendly and there was quite a lot of seating inside and out.
The menus were cute as they were printed on paper and pegged to the inside of old hardback children books.

I was after something light for breakfast this morning as i had a lot of naughty food the night before.
I had the Rose and Berry Pannacotta
$18.50
It was a combination of seasonal fresh fruits, pistachio, fruit jam, organic yogurt and quinoa-almond crumble. The rose was a very prominent flavour and smell to the dish which was unusual for me as I've never really eaten anything that was rose flavoured before.
Either way it was a delightful surprise.
The fresh fruit was deliciously sweet and delicate and the colours of the dish popped and reminded me of spring flowers.

A decided to have Eggs Benedict on Toasted Brioche with added Chorizo
$18.50
This was lightly saute spinach, poached eggs, cayenne and hollandaise sauce with chorizo.
For someone that doesn't normal like hollandaise sauce, A was taking a gamble and it paid off.
The hollandaise sauce was really good and the chorizo was the best part of the dish.
